STUDENT LEADER · CREATIVE STORYTELLER · GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Curious by nature. Creative by practice. Driven by the belief that meaningful connections can make every community stronger.
I'm Quinta Khatoro , an international student from Kenya currently studying Computer Programming at Humber College in Canada.
My interests stretch across leadership, communication and the creative arts. From chairing a Model United Nations conference to capturing a city through my camera, I enjoy experiences that bring people together, tell stories and turn ideas into something real.
I bring an open mind, a willingness to learn and the perspective of someone who has experienced student life across cultures.
Moving from Kenya to Canada has been more than changing countries. It has been learning how to build community in a new place while carrying the lessons of home with me.
Starting a new chapter at Humber College has challenged me to become more independent, adaptable and intentional about the connections I make. It has also helped me understand how important it is for international students to feel welcomed, represented and supported as they find their place.
I know what it feels like to arrive somewhere unfamiliar, navigate new systems and discover your community one conversation at a time. That perspective is something I would bring to the International Student Ambassador role.
Every new environment is an opportunity to learn, contribute and help someone else feel a little more at home.
Experiences that have shaped how I communicate, collaborate and contribute to a team.

Involvement in St John activities especially as cadet leader helped develop my sense of responsibility, service and teamwork.
Participated in the 2025 charity walkathon in support of St John Ambulance and its emergency-care awareness work.
Model United Nations has given me space to research global issues, communicate ideas and engage with different perspectives. I have participated as a delegate and taken on the responsibility of serving as a Junior Chair at an EAMUN conference.
Chairing a committee strengthened my confidence in facilitation, listening, organisation and helping conversations move forward constructively.

Research, structure and communication are part of how I engage with the world.
This sample is from a Model United Nations position paper prepared for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), representing Jamaica. It explores climate change, waste management and regional environmental action.
It reflects my interest in researching complex issues, organising information and communicating a position with clarity.
